Dear AHS Band Members,
Thank you for the most amazing performance imaginable and for cementing the reputation of the Athens Red Hawk Marching Band as one
of our state's truly ELITE programs!
Yesterday, at the MCBA State Championship, you poured your heart and soul into a performance that was one of the finest in our school's
history (and probably THE FINEST in our history!). Your attention to detail and your tenacity is clearly above any AHS group before you.
Your CONSISTENCY in performances is beyond anything we have seen before. And, of course, you established at least three new school
records: 1) high score - 84.64; 2) high score at a state finals championship; and 3) four scores of 80.0 and higher during this most-memorable
year! You know that I will be talking about THIS BAND and THIS YEAR -- 2011 -- for many years to come.
On behalf of our staff and our parents, we SALUTE YOU as being the best of the best!
Next up is a unique opportunity to present your skills and this incredible show on a NATIONAL stage at the BOA Grand National
Championship in Indianapolis. LET'S "KICK" THIS UP ONE MORE LEVEL :)
