This is an advanced course where students must be able to read
music at a very proficient level. Students must be in grades 10 - 12.
Exceptional 9th grade students may qualify based on audition
and instrumentation needs. Preference is given to 10-12 grade
students that have played in concert or symphony band.

Athens Jazz Band Dinner Dance - April 18
The entire community is invited to enjoy an evening of good food
and good music with the Athens High School Jazz Band at the San
Marino Club on Friday, April 18. The Jazz Band Dinner Dance
begins at 6:30 p.m. Dinner will be a family style dinner of salad,
pasta, chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, and ice cream for
dessert. Put on your dancing shoes and enjoy an evening of jazz,
swing, Latin, rock, and blues music. Tickets for this lovely evening
