Dear Marching Band Parents and Students,
Congratulations! We have once again qualified for State Finals! We would love to have a large group of
parents, friends, extended family etc. to CHEER FOR OUR STUDENTS! Remember, we expect the utmost
effort from our students in every aspect of preparation for this performance, and that includes taking
great care of the new uniforms. The schedule for the day is as follows:
NOTE: When you are dropped off or before you get on the bus, your instrument case needs to go in your
parent’s/ride’s vehicle. No items will be left on the bus, as the buses are not staying to take you back to
Athens. You will be providing your own transportation home from Ford Field.
1:00 PM Rehearsal begins at TROY HIGH SCHOOL. (You must provide your own
transportation to Troy High).
4:30 PM Rehearsal ends eat “brown bag” dinner.
Listen Carefully for directions regarding the loading of equipment
5:15 AM Meeting in the Troy High School band room
5:30 PM Load buses
5:45 PM Depart for Ford Field via school buses.
6:30 PM Arrive at Ford Field
*** LISTEN CAREFULLY TO ALL DIRECTIONS
GIVEN BY DIRECTORS, STAFF & CHAPERONES.
6:45-7:00 PM Off Load Equipment and Props on Beacon Street.
7:00-7:30 PM Official warm-up time (outside warm-up “A”)
7:30-7:45 PM Move to inside warm up with band guide
7:45-8:10 PM Inside warm-up “A” (8:10-8:15 Five minuets to vacate warm-up room)
8:15-30 PM Move onto field!
8:30 PM Troy Athens Red Hawks Perform!
8:45 PM Group/Section Photos and “browsing”/concessions time.
9:30 PM Go to the stands. Listen to “Flight I” bands perform, and wait for “Flight I”
awards.
You can get concessions at this time as well.
10:30 PM Flight One Awards (All students will be present and in full uniform at this time)
11:00 PM The Band will be dismissed at the conclusion of the Award Ceremony
AT THIS TIME YOU WILL BE DISMISSED AND YOU MAY GO HOME WITH YOUR PARENTS. IF YOUR
PARENTS ARE NOT ATTENDING, PLEASE PLAN ON CAR POOLING WITH SOMEONE. Every
Individual must “check out” with Mr. Blessing or Mr. Junod. Your parent or ride must initial that they are
taking you home with them. If your parent is not taking you, I must have an email or note stating the
transportation arrangements that have been made well in advance. The buses are not providing a ride
back to Athens. (Students may NOT drive to or from Ford Field).
