Dear Marching Band Parents and Students,
Our Third MCBA competition of the year will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Flint Atwood
Stadium. Driving directions are provided on the following page. We would love to have a large group of
parents, friends, extended family etc. to CHEER FOR OUR STUDENTS! All Students are to bring their
full uniform to rehearsal. Remember, we expect the utmost effort from our students in every aspect of
preparation for this performance, and that includes taking great care of the uniforms. The schedule for the
day is as follows:
7:30 a.m. Rehearsal Begins
11:00 a.m. Rehearsal ends.
Listen Carefully for directions regarding the loading of equipment
Change into uniform. Eat “brown bag” lunch
11:50 a.m. Load buses
12:05 p.m. Depart for Flint HS via school buses.
1:15 p.m. Arrive at Flint HS.
Unload / Go to Homeroom/
prepare for performance
*** LISTEN CAREFULLY TO ALL DIRECTIONS
GIVEN BY DIRECTORS, STAFF & CHAPERONES.
1:45 p.m. Begin warm-up
2:45 p.m. Official Warm-up Time
3:40 p.m. Report to the gate for competition.
3:45 p.m. Red Hawk Marching Band Performs!
4:00 p.m. Percussionists, Tubas etc. Put away equipment – load buses and truck then
join us in the stands please.
4:15 p.m. Go to stadium area – We are going to the visitors side immediately after our
performance as a group to enjoy the rest of the flight I performances! You may get
concessions on your way to the stadium area. We will leave immediately after the
last flight I band performs. The command personnel will stay for award ceremonies.
5:30 p.m. Depart for Athens.
6:30 p.m. Arrive at Athens High School.
7:30 p.m. Awards ceremonies. (Command personnel only)
We do have a limited number of tickets; these will be available after practice on Wednesday. YOU CAN
ALWAYS BUY TICKETS AT THE GATE. Please help your son or daughter adhere to this schedule.
Please make sure your uniform is in good order (shoes shined, etc.)
